Summer days

20th July
I went to Fukuoka to meet one of my friends of junior and high school. He lost his wife because of a cancer last April. Now he lives with his twelve years old daughter.
We talked together much, but strictly speaking, I heard his story thoroughly. He felt a king of solitude. I hope we can make up his solitude.

21th July
A hot day comes after another hot day. It is best for going to a swimming pool!
There is a pool near our house and in every summer we always go to the swimming pool/

Very crowded....

Last 7 days to Mt.Fuji climbing race

I couldn't have a motivation for training....
But there is only 7 days left till the race....
To enjoy the race I should have enough training....
I tried not to care how much I train. The important thing is that just I have a training even if it is very little.

Today's training: going up steps (second~thirteen floor × 10)=about 5km?

Mt.Fuji Radar dome museum

In the base of Mt. Fuji there is Mt. Fuji Radar dome museum. The radar dome was the building for the weather observation which was built on the top of Mt.Fuji. It could find typhoons much earlier than used to be. But after weather satellites appeared, it was no longer worth. Anyway you can see the movie how it was built. I was very impressed with it. It is worth seeing.

The Rador dome was removed from the top of Mt.Fuji.

Mt.Fuji (third time in this year)

Mt. Fuji called me again today!?
The weatherforecast said it would rain, but I could enjoy the fine weather, although a little bit windy.
My legs were not in good condition, but I could confirm the race course (where I should pace up or down).

Umagaeshi, 0合目 In the race trail part begins from this point.

The second Torii. If you can see this, the top is just before your eyes!

There is a shrine on the top of Mt.Fuji.
Today's another target is the famous onsen,"Nomekoinoyu"

After passing the suspension bridge, you can reach the onsen.

You can enjoy not only the onsen but eating Soba there if not sold out.

Mt.Fuji (second time in this year)

I struggled with myself in the bed whether I would go for running or not. The fight continued for 30 minutes. And then went to Mt.Fuji(1 hour behind the plan....)
There were only twelve days till the Mt.Fuji climbing race, so there were so many runners to try to run the race course. On my way descending from the top I talked with one of the runner about many races while running.

There is little snow. We can go to the top!

It was so fine that we could enjoy the spectacle view from the top.

After climbing I always eat this Udon. 500Yen!! How cheap! But delicious!

Yukata festival

In these days(from July) the number of patients has been decreasing, so I could go home till noon after night duty. We call this phenomenan ”夏枯れ”.

I bought sunglasses for running. Today was the right day for use them.

In the evening there was a yukata festival in the kindergarten of my daughter.
We enjoyed dancing and fireworks. According to the wetherforecast there would be a summer afternoon shower. But it was good for us that we could enjoy the blue sky(twilight).

conditioning

I have muscle pain here and there. I was partly satisfied with the result of this race, but on the other hand, I felt I was short of training.
It was certain that it was too hot to run pleasantly, but I realized that I didn't have enough muscle power(especially thigh) to climb up.

From today,,,tomorrow,, I will begin to restart the morning training if possible.

Kitatanzawa 12hours endurance race

I woke up 2:30 and went out home 3:00. It was so early that it was difficult for my daughters to wake up, so my family was at home. Felt a little loneliness...

Before start(before 5:00)

It was too hot. The tempature was already 28℃ at 7 o'clock in the morning.During the race, it was over 30℃.
We were fighting against steep slope, ourselves and hotness!

After the race.I slipped a few times.

ordinary day?

When I was running on the same course along the Tamako, I met a runner who went astray. She came from Fukuoka on business and always run everyday. We ran together till she could find where to go.
After running for a while, I found a person who failed down on the ground. There were already a few people around her. Perhaps she went into convulsions, and now the epilepsy has stopped. Soonerly EMS has arrived and they dispatched her to the hospital.

It was raining, so I should watch out my steps not to slip.

It was so chilly. There were stil a lot of snow, and I couldn't climb up to the top.

Next time I wish I could go to the top.

Although it will rain tomorrow , but no problem!

off

There is a farewell party tonight. I'm very sorry that many staffs resign one after another.
Maybe the reason is that working in the ICU is hard for both physical and mental.

Kitatanzawa

This weekend and the next weekend I have to work and can't go trail at all. So I took a holiday today.
I went to Kitatanzawa to see the course of the Kitatanzawa endurance race.
According to the wetherforecast it would rain but it was so nice day to run because it was cloudy and cool.

Nowadays I feel keenly that I am short of training.

There were many moutain azalea .

In Tanzawa there are many leeches. You should watch out. The best way to avoid them is not to stop at all and run faster!

14th June
We dropped in Mt. Fuji on the way to Saiko.
I ran from 中の茶屋 to 馬返し which is the most important point of the first latter(road part) of the Mt. Fuji climbing race.
There were many runners who would participate in the race. I felt a tense atmosphere when I came to Mt. Fuji. I like it.

Today's training: 4km run (climbing up)

15th June
I participated in Saiko road race. But the main event of my family was the picking cherry after the race.

It was 20.5km, so the speed was the very important element. It was the last one I like....

It was so fine that we could enjoy food and sweets under the sun shine!

After the race we went to the cherry farm and enjoyed the picking the cherry. They said in this year it was a bad harvest. So I had to climb up to the very high point to pick the cherry.

Can you see me? On the top of the ladder!

We enjoyed the sweet cherry more because it was hard to pick them.

A frightening event happened in Akihabara. It is very popular town where everyone has ever visited. You can see many opinion in each newspaper, on TV. As for me, I was very impressed that ICU of 東京医科歯科大学 managed three seriously injured patients, because the noon of Sunday is the time that there are few staffs in the hospital.

A new machine has come to my home!

Last weekend we went to a electrical store. Our washing machine which we bought five years ago has made a big sound in these day and the sound is getting louder.
Maybe a washing machine with a drying machine is easy to go wrong, but the function(washing and drying in the same machine) is so convenient that in this time we chose it! In addition, the new machine can wash something by ozone!!!
I immediately used the "ozone" to clean up the knee supporters after running.
They didn't smell at all after only 10 minutes cleaning! So impressed!!

The design is very simple, it's good!

Kitatanzawa endurance race

I ran through the whole Kitatanzawa endurance race.
The first half of the course is mainly along the river. It was rain yesterday so the path was very rough and one of the bridge was broken and carried away!

A pretty school at the foot of a mountain

You can find a monkey with yellow foot in the mountain!

Because of the yesterday's rain, there was a plenty of water in the mountain.

Nobeyama Ultramarathon

18th MAY
Nobeyama Ultra-marathon

This was the second time to run a 100km marathon.
Obviously I was short of training this time, and I was afraid that I couldn't finish the race. Recently I have had too much injury and have to reflect it seriously.
In anyway, the race had come and I had to do my best.
Last year it was fine but a little cold(2℃~12℃). In this year it was also luckily fine and warm. We could enjoy not only the race but also the scenery of Yatugatake.

I started with tne anxiety of my left kee. Just after atart, I had a little pain with my knee, but it had gotten easier and easier. So I could keep running.

A cheering party of my family at the point of 45km

I realized that I was short of trainig. I had already had the muscle pain at 30km point. I felt much harder in this time than last time.

At the 71km point. I ate too much Soba here.

Of course, running through 100km was vey hard, but we were so happy that we could run all through the day without doing anything.
I could have so much time to think about many things.

Thanks for the cheering that gave me the power to finish the race!

It was fine and the best day for the family mountaineering. Firstly I was afraid the younger daughter gave up climbing on the way to the top. But she could finish the very good job! The rice balls that we ate on the top of the Mount. Takao was the one of the most delicious dishes that we have ever eaten!

Mount. Takao is the most crowded mountain in the world.

They did very good jobs!

Too many people. But there is still a lot of nature.

calm and easy holiday

In Japan we call the holiday "Golden Week". We have a series of four holidays! But I wonder only four holidays are not enough for being called Gold.
In the morning it was raining but it was fine in the afternoon. We went to the Koganei Park.

The blue sky has come in front of us!

It's getting warm and is very pleasant for taking a walk.

In the park there was a small zoo? and we could touch the animals there.

Oshio Kotaro

The concert of Oshio Kotaro was held in 国際フォーラム. We, my wife and I could get the ticket of the third line seats, so we could enjoy not only his music but also his each expression.
I have no ear for music but was profoundly impressed by him again.
